Admission Process
Applications for the 2026-2027 school year will open on October 1st and close on January 7th. The application link will be posted here
Admission information

Applications are for current 8th grade and 9th grade students

Student transcripts will be pulled from their current schools

Students will be asked to answer two short answer questions

Why do you want to be a part of the Sprayberry STEM academy​

What STEM clubs/activities have you been a part of
-

Student's teacher's will be contacted for recommendations/information about student's potential​

After January 7th, student applications will be reviewed. Those students that move on to the next step will be asked to sit in with a short interview with Dr. Oldham (held at the student's home school).

Students will be informed about their acceptance status on January 29
Current Student Requirements
Below are the current expectations for STEM academy students
Requirements

Students will maintain an electronic portfolio which documents their STEM learning inside and outside the classroom

Students will be in honors math/science classes and must complete at least one AP course in math and science

Students will select and complete one STEM pathway

Students will participate in one STEM club and one STEM competition per year​

Students will complete a minimum of 8 volunteer hours per year

Students will take AP Seminar in junior year and AP Research in senior year
