Choose from four distinct STEM Pathways
Healthcare Science
Students interested in healthcare science will take the healthcare science pathway of classes which includes Honors anatomy. Students will also earn a CTAE completion pathway cord upon graduation
9th: Intro into Healthcare
10th: Essentials of Healthcare/Honors Anatomy
11th: Allied Health and Medicine
Electrical Engineering
Students interested in the field of electronics will take the electrical engineering pathway. This field focuses on circuits and electrical engineering and students will receive a CTAE completion pathway cord upon graduation
9th: Foundations of Electronics
10th: Advanced AC/DC circuits
11th: Digital Electronics
All Students will complete the AP Capstone courses with the ability to earn a Dual Diploma with the AP Capstone Diploma
What is AP Capstone?
AP Capstone is the series of two courses, AP Seminar and AP Research. In AP Seminar, students learn how to read, write, analyze, create, and present college level academic arguments. In AP Research, students will take what they have learned in AP Seminar to design a methodology to conduct university caliber research in a STEM field.
What is the AP Capstone Certificate?
Students who earn a 3 or higher on the AP assessments in AP Seminar and AP Research will be awarded the AP Capstone certificate which demonstrates to colleges that this student is capable of higher level academic research
What is the AP Capstone Diploma?
Students who earn a 3 or higher on the AP assessments in AP Seminar and AP research AND earn a 3 or higher on four of any other AP test will be awarded the AP Capstone Diploma. This means that students would be awarded two Diplomas upon graduation, the diploma awarded from the state of Georgia, and the AP Capstone Diploma awarded by the College Board. During the college admission process, there is an option where students can select "I am an AP Capstone applicant" which will indicate to colleges that this student is capable of intense academic research during the application process.
All Students will take honors and advanced level science and math courses and will be required to take at least one AP science and one AP math before graduation
