Discord Channel

All STEM students must participate online in the discord channel a minimum of once per week. There are dedicated channels for each cohort (classes of 2022, 2023, 2024, 2025) as well as channels for STEM topics.  Students must fill out the code of conduct form (found on the forms link or by clicking the icon above) in order to be added to the STEM discord channel

Volunteer Hours

All STEM students required to complete a minimum of 30 hours of volunteer work during their high school career.  These volunteer hours need to be documented on the link above (click the image)

AP Capstone

Starting in junior year, every student will begin the 2-part AP Capstone classes (AP seminar and AP research). AP Seminar is in the spring of junior year and is directly followed by AP Research fall semester senior year. Online STEM Learning Portfolio

As part of our STEM requirements, all students must create and update their online STEM learning portfolio each year. Click on the icon for detailed instructions/rubric. This portfolio helps students and teachers monitor STEM learning and engagement throughout each student's four years in the academy

Every STEM student must participate in a STEM club (in school or outside of school) as well as compete in at least one STEM competition per year. Click on the icon above to see current options for clubs and competitions.

Information about course pathways can be found under prospective students. If you are unsure which courses you need to be taking check there first, any additional questions about courses can be emailed to me

Freshmen

This year you will focus on

  • Finding a STEM club to be a part of

  • Finding a STEM competition to be a part of (can be a competition linked to your STEM club)

  • Actively participating in the STEM Discord channel

  • Focusing on STEM academics

  • Completing your STEM digital portfolio

Sophomores

This year you will focus on

  • Being a member of STEM club 

  • Competing in STEM event/competition/internship

  • Applying to Governor's Honors Program

  • Actively participating in the STEM Discord channel

Juniors

This year you will focus on

  • AP Seminar! Spring Semester

  • Being a member of STEM club

  • Focusing on STEM academics

Seniors
